Personal Medical Equipment, Medication, and Information

1. If you have a serious medical condition, it is a good idea to speak with your doctor before the trip to Cornerstone. Your doctor may have reservations about your activities at the fest, and it is a good idea to find out what s/he thinks.

2. If your condition warrents it, be sure to wear a "medical emergency" necklace or bracelet. It is also a good idea to carry a note with you regarding your medical condition, along with a list of your medications, and your doctor's phone number in case you need to be treated at the local hospital.

3. Bring along a good supply of any medications that you need, in their original bottles. Bring your doctor's phone number with you in case they need to call in a prescription to a local pharmacy. (HINT: Get your doctor's business card, or an appointment card, from his/her office. These cards usually have both their office number and an emergency number for you to call.)

4. If you are in a wheelchair or require a walker for mobility, please make sure that it is in good working order. The roads at the fest are NOT paved, and your mobility device WILL take a beating.

5. Bring a GOOD first aid kit, with enough supplies for everyone in your group.

Foot Care (Very Important!)

Antifungal/Antibacterial Products. YOU need a can of foot spray to bring to the showers. Spray your feet BEFORE and AFTER you use the showers. Everyday, without fail!

Cushion Insoles

Heel & Arch Supports: Better to have good shoes, but if you can't afford them, do put some supports in what shoes you have. Your feet will thank you.

Personal Care Items

1. Bring SOAP and plenty of it! Your skin will be laboring under layer upon layer of sweat, grime, sunscreen and insect repellent. Bring enough soap for everyone in your group (i.e. you need a bar of soap or a tube of body wash for EACH person in your group). Personally, I prefer body gel/body wash with an abrasive puff or loofah, as I find that it cuts through the grime better and gets me cleaner.

HINT: I have brought Tea Tree Oil soaps/body washes to Cornerstone for the past couple of years and have not regretted it. Tea Tree Oil is very soothing to my poor, fair, sensitive skin, while also having good antibiotic properties. I leave the showers very clean, refreshed, and un-itchy.

2. Keep yourself from getting stinky by bringing your deodorant.

3. Ladies, don't forget to bring feminine hygiene supplies.

4. Bring your toothbrush, floss, and toothpaste. HINT: Charge up your electric toothbrush before coming to the fest (no outlets), or pack light and bring along a regular toothbrush.

5. If you tend to get really grubby, or hate standing in line for showers everyday, you can buy some of those cleansing towelettes that you see on tv. I would advise against baby wipes (which are designed for baby's bottoms), and would recommend that you go for the towelettes that are specifically designed for adults.

5.Hand sanitizer is great for use before and after meals, before and after using the washroom, and as "backup" for your deodorant. (After washing, just apply some of the antibacterial gel to your underam area. Wait a few seconds for it to dry, then apply your deodorant.)

6. When you go to your favorite fast food restaurant, pick up some extra Handiwipes (the little lemony towelettes that come in tiny sealed packets). These are great to carry in your pocket or purse.

7. Don't forget your razor, shaving cream, etc. No, there are no outlets, so unless you have an adapter for your car lighter, you will need a regular razor.

Cosmetics, Beauty, and Hair Care

1. Forget heavy foundations: foundation won't stay on in the heat, and will probably end up being really annoying and irritating (i.e. it will run into your eyes). Either wear a light bronzer over your sunscreen, go without any additional color over your sunscreen, or select a tinted sunscreen or moisturizer. (Check to make sure that your tinted moisturizer has an SPF of at least 15. If it doesn't, you need an additional sunscreen.)

Another option is mineral foundation, which is pretty much waterproof and non-irritating. Check out the link below: when you get to the main page, click on "cosmetics" and you will be taken to a line of mineral cosmetics.

2. Use lip balm with a sunscreen every day. If you need to use lipcolor, put it over the lip balm. Lips have NO sun protection, so it is very important that you protect them against the sun.

3. Buy some waterproof mascara that won't "sweat" itself into your eyes.

5. Bring plenty of shampoo and conditioner. Last year the on-site store ran out of shampoo, so don't count on being able to buy some there!

6. Unless you have an RV or an adapter for your car lighter, your curling iron, hot curlers, and blowdryer will not work. Consider getting your hair braided before the fest, or invest in some barettes, bobby pins, and pony tail bands to keep your hair out of your face and off the back of your neck. If you REALLY cannot get along without your appliances, consider these cordless options:
Emjoi Stylit Plus Rechargeable Hair Styler
Braun Cordless Curling Iron
Aquis Essentials Microfiber Hair Towel
