Foot Care Tips

Perhaps the most important advice I have to give you!

Unless you are planning on renting one of those infernal golf carts, your FEET will be among the most important things that you bring to the fest. The Cornerstone Farm is HUGE, and you will need to walk many MILES each day in order to feed, clean, evacuate, and entertain yourself. If you don't care for your feet, you will be rendered immobile, and will be miserable, hungry, and filthy for the duration of the fest.

1. Bring 2-3 pair of shoes: at least one pair of sturdy walking shoes or boots, and at least one pair of sandals. Make sure that your sandals are the kind that are securely strapped to your feet. Clogs, mules, and other kids of shoes that are not fitted or strapped to your feet will quickly prove to be useless in the mud.

2.Do not leave your shoes unattended outside your tent, as they may get stolen . Bring some plastic shopping bags from home, and carefully put your shoes in the bag: this will ensure that you don't get dirt in your tent floor.

3. Examine your feet twice daily. If you have broken blisters, cuts, puncture wounds, etc, tend to them immediately with antibiotic ointment, bandages, etc. The MUD at Cornerstone can carry a lot of bacteria. Wear closed shoes/boots if your feet are badly injured.

4. Make sure that you wash your feet carefully each day. You may want to apply some anti-bacterial gel to them as well.

5. Break in your shoes/sandles/boots well before coming to C-Stone. Bring moleskin (available at any drug store) to put on parts of your feet that are often subject to blistering.

5. Bring plenty of socks with you, more than you think you need.

6. Bring foot balm for your feet. You may also want to bring an anti-bacterial foot spray as well.

7. Do not ignore foot pain, no matter how busy you are. Take the time to remove pebbles, etc, from your shoes, and rest your feet as needed.
