The best way to get to the fest is by automobile. Be aware that the fest is held out in the middle of a cornfield and
there is no organized transportation (public or otherwise) to the festival grounds. In fact, there is no transportation to
the town of Bushnell. (Folks from other states may want to fly in, but then rent a car at the airport.)
Occasionally
you will find people offering to give rides from train and bus stations, as well as the airport. If so, make arrangements
beforehand to get to the fest. Otherwise, you may be stuck at the station/airport, with no way to get to the festival grounds.
Note: Barry's Taxi, headquartered at the Macomb train station, will take Cornerstone Festival goers to the grounds at a rate
of $45 for the cab, plus $1 per extra person. (In other words, if three people get in the cab, the total cost will be $47
+ tip). Barry's Taxi will also pick you up from the fest grounds if you call them. Their number is:(309) 833-1700, enter
it into your cell phone now so you have it on hand for the fest. I'd also write it down somewhere in case your cell battery
dies. If you are staying at a hotel or at the WIU dorms, you MUST have a car. I have heard reports that pleas for rides are
usually ignored by other fest goers.
If you are planning on attending the fest with other folks, make sure you have
a "Plan B" in case they drop out at the last minute. The Phantom Tollbooth (www.tollboth.org) has a
ride board & lists people who will pick you up at the bus or train station and drop you off at the fest entrance. There are always folks
looking for last minute riders as well.
I have used expedia.com for many years and have found them to offer a professional
and quality service. I recommend that you use them when planning your trip to Cornerstone.
