Emergency Fund Tips
1. Your emergency fund should be based on what you would need to get yourself home, safe and sound, from Bushnell or anyplace
you might be while traveling to or from Bushnell. You should consider what it would cost to repair your car, and what you
might have to pay for a bus or train ticket, plus a night at a hotel, and your food during this time.
2. Keep emergency fund money separate from the rest of your money. Travelers checks can be a good way of doing this.
3. Let a friend or relative know about your plans, and make sure that they would be willing to send you cash in case you
need funds. Getting you cash is not as difficult as it may sound: You can ask them to wire you money via Western Union (this
will require you going into town at a place that accepts Western Union transfers, send money to your PayPal account (assuming
that you have a PayPal debit card), or you can leave them a deposit slip for your checking account and they can make a deposit
for you.
