Note: These clothing guidelines are for people who are not part of a particular "scene". If you are a goth, punk, etc,
and have special clothing needs, you will need to make necessary adjustments to this list. Also, remember that you are camping,
and bring clothing that you won't mind getting dirty or stained!
1. Head Gear:
Cornerstone gets hot and the sun is really, really strong. It is easy to get sunburn on your scalp, and since your scalp
is particularly sensitive to sun, you can even get sun poisoning if you are out and about too long. Hats work fine,
but my own preference is for a bandana. Also, if you have long hair, bring along clips and bands for keeping your hair up
and off your neck!
2. Underwear & Pyjamas:
Now hear this!
You will get hot and sweaty at Cornerstone. You will have to deal with horrific humidity as well. You will not be comfortable
if your underwear is nasty, soggy, and otherwise disgusting. The best way to keep feeling comfortable at Cornerstone Festival
is to have numerous changes of underwear. Ideally your underwear (including bras) should be of the cotton variety. Bring enough
for a change everyday + some extras, just in case you get really hot and want to change into clean clothing after taking a
cooling shower.
Bring socks, even if you plan to mostly wear sandals. It can get cold at Cornerstone, and you will be grateful to have
warm feet. If you are wearing regular shoes/boots, bring extra socks, so your feet stay dry and happy.
BRING PJs! You don't want to go to bed in the clothing you have worn all day, particularly if they are damp. The
temperature can drop considerably at night, and you risk getting very cold while sleeping.
3. Tops and Bottoms:
Cornerstone Festival asks that everyone, male and female, dress modestly. It is also true, however, that Cornerstone
Festival is very hot and the humidity can be beastly. To beat the heat while being modest, I suggest bringing along
clothing made of natural fibers (cotton is best). Women should consider bringing long flowy cotton skirts (looks great, protects
legs against sunburn, and very comfortable) and long shorts. Men should probably forgo the skirts, but the long shorts (hitting
mid-thigh) work well. Everyone should bring along long and short sleeve t-shirts and modest tank tops. Remember, kids, this
is camping, not a fashion show!
Bring at least one or two pairs of slacks or jeans: These are great to change into when it gets cold.
4. Swimsuits:
If you plan to swim a lot, I'd suggest bringing at least 2 (modest) swimsuits so you can switch into one while the other
dries. I'd also bring a cover-up for walking back to your campsite from the beach. (A large baggy t-shirt should suffice).
5. Cold Weather Stuff:
Bring a jacket, socks, and a pair of sweats. If it gets cold (and one year the nighttime temperature
got down to 34 degrees), you will want all of these things.
6. Bathrobe:
A bathrobe is great for going back and forth between the showers: Nothing is more irritating than waking up in a hot
tent and having to put on dirty clothing to head out to the showers! Terrycloth or waffle weave is best.
