Keep Safe
1. Use common sense: C-Stone is a Christian gathering, but not everyone there is a Christian, and not everyone there is
going to have the same degree of self-control that you have.
2. Keep your car locked and your valuables (including plane, train, bus tickets) in the locked car.
3. Buy a traveler's neck pouch, money belt, jogger's wallet, and/or fanny pack. Keep your money, ID, credit cards on you
(when they aren't in your locked car) at all times.
4. Show reasonable caution when dealing with others. Don't get in the car or tent of someone you don't know. Don't accept
rides into town from people who you don't know. Be cautious about giving your personal information (phone number, address,
last name, etc) to others.
5. Make friends with your neighbors, and work to keep an eye on each other and each other's property. Be particularly
cautious at the end of the festival, when the gates are pretty much unattended and people are wandering in and out. This is
the time that a lot of thefts occur.
6. If you are camping by yourself in a small/low tent, be aware that people sometimes go stumbling/driving through campsites
in an unsafe manner. You risk serious injury or death if someone steps, falls, or runs over you. Move your tent to a fence
or a hedge, and put up torches or glow lights so people can see that you are a campsite.
7. Women should be particularly careful about where they walk. There are relatively remote areas of the Cornerstone Farm
where one could be vulnerable to attack. While you are usually very safe in the "main" concert/camping areas, you
should avoid the beach (after dark) and the remote wooded areas. Remember: Cornerstone is a Christian festival, but not everyone
who attends Cornerstone is a Christian or there with good intentions.
